Volunteer Match is an online organization that connects people of all ages with volunteer opportunities throughout the United States, posting millions of new volunteer opportunities each year.

Getting Started
Students create a resume to reflect applicable volunteer experiences (Group Problem Solving, Service Learning) before
volunteering with Volunteer Match.
Students connect to Volunteer Match online
Students Register with Volunteer Match (in order to submit your name and contact information to
volunteer organizations. The registration process is free and secure).
Students explore online Virtual Volunteer Opportunities (pertaining to):
- Advocacy & Human Rights
- Race & Ethnicity
- International/Community
- Homeless & Housing
- Immigrants & Refugees
- Disaster Relief
Students make a selection (clicking the I want to help! icon to confirm).
Accountability/Reflection
Track your volunteer experiences and inquiries using the referral history on Volunteer Match. You can organize this feature of your volunteer account to include additional details, but a full count of your referrals to nonprofit organizations is documented.
Provide objective and subjective analysis of your experiences. Compare and contrast your Virtual Volunteering experienes with your Service Learning experiences, Be sure to address your inquiry goals and results for each.
Using Volunteer Match's feedback report, read background information on the average volunteer. This report was published in 2006 and provides demographic profiles as well as testimonials on why people volunteer with Volunteer Match. What can you infer from this data?
